We are very proud of the children who received a special message home during the month of March.
Well done!
We are delighted to congratulate the five winners of our recent ‘Why Every School Day Counts’ Poster Competition!
Pupils from all classes took part in this creative and meaningful activity, designing posters that highlighted the importance of school attendance. Each entry featured a positive slogan alongside imaginative artwork.
A huge well done to our winners:
Aoife Williams, Josh Donaghy, Joanne McDonagh, Cadhla Tynan and Alicia McFadden.
Each winner received a fantastic art set to encourage their creativity even further—well deserved!
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Ms Hannon for organising this wonderful event and inspiring such enthusiasm and talent across the school.
Well done to everyone who took part!
Skip Around the World is a whole-of-school challenge that integrates physical activity with teaching and learning. This initiative focuses on participation, inclusion and fun with lots of learning opportunities along the way. All classes, at all levels were encouraged to build a short skipping break in to their daily routines, across the 3 weeks of the challenge. Working together as a class, and as a school, our combined skips allowed us to travel to many of the world’s most famous locations! The pupils really enjoyed the event and they improved their skipping skills enormously!
Active Schools Week Day 4 marked the much anticipated arrival of the annual Teachers v Pupils challenge. This year we decided to hold a number of doubles badminton matches between the teachers and 6th class. After a number of closely fought games it was all square in the standings. There was no other option but to hold a tie breaker! In the end the 6th class took the win much to the delight of the pupils who had done so well in creating an electric atmosphere!
To finish the day we were delighted to take delivery of our Active Schools Flag on successful completion of the 2 year programme. Our ASF status will remain valid for 3 years. In the interim years between flags schools with ASF status are asked to:
We look forward to meeting these challenges over the next number of years.
Thank you very much to Mr Hanly and Mr Hardiman for overseeing this worthwhile initiative.
